A Christmas wish…

The snow falls steadily here at my home. The day is pure white light, as it can be on a snowfall day. For once, the streets are quiet; no cars roar down the street at ten second intervals. The silence is welcome after the frenetic pace out there during the past two weeks.

I hope for all of you a pleasurable and peaceful exit of the old year and much health, contentment and love from friends and family. May some sanity, thankfulness and peace prevail everywhere. G

Snow. Something that I have seen only once in my life! And that when I was a girl of 15, a very long time ago!! Merry Christmas and a happy New year to you G!

  2. The Querulous Squirrel Says:

“Pure white light.” Beautiful. Same to you, G.

  3. The Querulous Squirrel Says:

Oh. And my favorite about the lack of cars is actually being able to hear the snowflakes fall.

Nita – happy New Year to you and your family, wishing for good things for you!
The downside of all this snow where i live is that few people drive well in it, and when it melts, our streets and basements flood. We are expecting rains and a rise in temperature so things will be a bit fraught for three or four next days. Snow is pretty, but causes a havoc. With upside comes the downside. G

The Querulous Squirrel – yep, that is the best part of snowtime, hearing the minute drifting sigh of snow – somehow every time it happens is as if it were the first time one ever hears it – simply magical. You must also be having snow now? The back Eastern snows are different from this loggy wet stuff we get. Enjoy! G

MadSilence – thank you, and the same wishes extend in your direction. G

I enjoyed several moments of silence myself on Christmas morning. It felt great to stand on my porch, all bundled up, sipping coffee, and seeing nothing much happening around me.

The new year is knocking loudly, though. And I’m looking forward to it . . .

G, I hope your holiday with Mousey, Rumpole, Looking for Beauty, Renaissance Man, and all the rest was everything your heart desired. Plus it sounds like you had a white Christmas to boot.
